An article in zdnet from 2010 talks about the data retention proposals, back then named #ozlog. As far as I know, the results of these consultations were never made public, so I made an freedom of information request for them.
Update: I received the response, and they think it’s reasonable to charge $4000 for a database dump. In what fucking world?
On the 17th of September, I put in a freedom of information request for the entirety of the national classification database. I had previously written code that would scrape the entire database from the website, but they have since absolutely ruined the website, so I was left with no choice but to FOI request.
